In his inaugural speech, NRC President Thongam Ajit underlined the significance of computer literacy in the present era. He said that in today’s modern world, knowledge of computers is no longer an option but a necessity for every individual. While acknowledging that our society still lags behind developed nations in terms of technological advancement, he expressed confidence that with proper infrastructure, the right tools, and systematic training, we too can compete on a global scale. He remarked, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is equivalent to magic.” There is no lack of energetic students in our society, and with the right guidance, they can become the driving force of progress
Ajit further highlighted that the Free Computer Course is not just about technical education but also about empowering the younger generation to build confidence, improve employability, and contribute positively to society’s progress. He expressed his gratitude to MSF for extending cooperation and supporting the vision of NRC in promoting skill-based education.
The program is being conducted under the theme “Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi”, one of MSF’s continuity initiatives, which seeks to encourage learning and personal development through practical training and collective effort. Through this theme, both NRC and MSF reaffirm their commitment to nurturing human resources and promoting education as a powerful tool for change.
The Free Computer Course will cover essential topics such as basic computer operations, MS Office applications, internet usage, and digital literacy practices. It is open to both students and community members who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of technology.
This joint initiative by NRC and MSF is expected to create new opportunities for participants and inspire more organizations to contribute toward bridging the digital divide in society.
