
Thongam Ajit, Persident, National Research Centre (NRC), stated that it is vital to provide regular reports to the United Nations on the volatile situation in Manipur because both the state and federal governments have overlooked the state’s pertinent issues.
The NRC President made the statement while speaking at the discussion session on the theme “Manipur and Geo-politics” on January 7, 2025 at Narorem Sanajaoba Public Library hall, NRC Building, Canchipur.
On the occasion, Laishram Malem Mangal, Assistant Professor of International Law, Symbiosis Law School, Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, Pune, spoke on “Geo-politics and International Law Locating Manipur,” while Ch. Gunamani, Assistant Professor, Centre for South East Asian Studies, Nagaland University, delivered a lecture on “Manipur in the global geo-politics.” Phukubdro Konsam, Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights (COHR), was also present.
